VACANZA A BERLINO/ HOLIDAY IN BERLIN

Dal 26/12 al 30/12 sono stata a Berlino con mio marito, che dire? è stata una vacanza piacevole e interessante, Berlino è veramente un po' speciale: così ricca, così varia, una finestra aperta sulla storia soprattutto quella più recente della nostra Europa, quella che non si fa mai in tempo a studiare a scuola e che viene liquidata in due parole perchè si è ormai alla fine dell'anno, prima di partire mi sono documentata un po' ma quando sono stata là ero ancora piena di perchè

Naturalmente si respirava ancora aria Natalizia ed era in preparazione un grande evento di piazza per questa sera partendo dalla porta di Brandeburgo fino alla GrosseSterne.

Abbiamo fatto chilometri a piedi, l'aria era frizzante ma non ci sono state precipitazioni per cui è andata alla grande, nel girovagare mi sono imbattuta in un negozio dedicato al Natale che mi ha fatto perdere la testa http://www.original-erzgebirgskunst.de/ , c'erano tutti oggetti in legno magnifici, non ho potuto reistere e ho comperato una piccola Natività con le quattro candele dell'Avvento che, accese, fanno muovere un'elica, sono stata al mercato delle pulci al Tiergarten e sono salita sulla cupola del Reichstag da cui si ha una vista mozzafiato su tutta la città. Naturalmente sono andata nella parte Est a cercare quel che resta del muro con tutti i suoi graffiti e tutta la sua angoscia e sono anche andata all'Opera, ci siamo passati di fronte, davano "Le nozze di Figaro" di Rossini e abbiamo deciso di entrare, ovviamente non mi ero portata un vestito da Opera per cui sono entrata con quel che avevo; scarponcini, giacca a vento, jeans e zaino.

BUON 2008 A TUTTI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and Dh were in Berlin from 26/12 to 30/12, it was a nice holiday: we enjoyed the city that is very interesting and so special. The weather was good, just a bit cold so we could walk around for kilometers, I stepped in a Christmas shop to dye for, I couldn't resist to buy a little wooden Nativity with theAdvent candles http://www.original-erzgebirgskunst.de/, we went to the Flea Market in Tiergarten and on the top of the Reichstag dom where you have the sight on the whole city: amazing! We went to the Opera Theathre to watch " Le Nozze di Figaro", our days were busy but relaxing

Ci sono momenti della vita, come quando si perde un genitore, in cui ci si sente veramente soli e disarmati nonostante il calore della famiglia, però ,quando scopri che amiche pressochè sconosciute che condividono con te la passione per i fili e i tessuti si coalizzano per sorprenderti con dei piccoli capolavori ti accorgi di non essere più così sola: grazie amiche della lista "Crazy quilters around the world" per i vostri magnifici cuori, li conserverò per sempre!

Fuori stagione/ off season

Ogni anno faccio più fatica ad entrare nello spirito natalizio o forse è lo spirito natalizio che fatica ad entrare in me , fatto sta che non ho ancora preparato nulla in tema , in compenso negli ultimi giorni mi sono dedicata ad assemblare i blocchi crazy del round robin, così è nato "Luglio": decisamente mi sono portata avanti col lavoro!

This year it's hard for me to enter in the Christmas spirit, I haven't yet prepared anything, in the last days I worked to put the crazy blocks from the RR together so now "July" is ready, a bit off season but very nice and hot!

Inchies e ATC

Ancora sorprese nella posta: sono arrivati i primi inchies dello scambio, ho scelto come tema "l'inverno" e questa è l'interpretazione di Gunilla.

L' ATC è invece di Annica http://fabthreads.blogspot.com/, che ha ricamato a mano su una base di lana infeltrita, il risultato è molto bello!

Questa ATC l'ho ricevuta da Ati, ho scelto questo soggetto perchè proprio in questo periodo sto leggendo "Il cammino di Santiago" di P.Coelho e la cosa mi affascina al punto che mi sono messa in testa di fare il cammino ,non tutto ma almeno l'ultima parte, mio marito dice che sono matta e che lui non mi accompagna, mio figlio Maurizio invece è più avventuroso ed è disposto a venire con me, chissà ,vedremo... se ci andrò mi porterò l' ATC di Ati con me.

Miniquilt da Wilma

Questo è il miniquilt che Wilma ha cucito per me usando i tessuti autunnali che nel gruppo Sewpals ci eravamo scambiate in occasione del nostro compleanno durante il 2006, quest'anno ognuna di noi doveva fare un miniquilt per un'amica del gruppo come regalo di compleanno, avrei dovuto ricevere il quilt a fine luglio ma Wilma è stata molto occupata ultimamente per cui la sorpresa è arrivata in ritardo ma è decisamente valsa la pena aspettare qualche mese, il quilt è molto bello e il ricamo perfetto: grazie Wilma!

This is the miniquilt that Wilma sewed for me using the autumn fabrics that in the Sewpals group we swapped during the 2006, this year everyone had to make a quilt for a secret friend as a Birthday present, mine is in late as Wilma was so busy lately but the quilt is so nice and the embroidery so perfect that it was worth waiting: thank you Wilma!
